A nice course and a beautiful day. A very slow pack... so slow that the +35 passed us on our second lap and we had a "mid race re-goup" as our pace car kept us from mixing.

I decided to ride smart... staying protected from the wind. Any breaks near the end were chased down and ran into the pace car as we caught the +35 on the home stretch.

My hard training paid off as everyone was breathing hard on the climbs and looked over to me in amazement... (I could still talk)... The end of the race was fun as we accelerated into the traffic circle which sling-shotted us up the hill to the finish.

I put my head down and hammered up the hill... when all was said and done... I had second place... my best finish yet.

Here's to using your brains on race day... and congrats to all those who cranked the Kanc the same day!
